High wall heat pumps
A high wall heat pump is the indoor unit you see mounted high on a wall, joined by pipes to an outdoor unit outside. It is the most common heat pump in New Zealand homes because it is the quickest to install and the lowest cost per room.
Right now we have 187 high wall heat pumps in stock from Daikin, Panasonic, Gree, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Haier and Hitachi. Prices start at $859.99 incl. GST.
Most listings here are complete sets with the indoor and outdoor unit together. Look for “Complete Set” in the filter if you need both.
What size do you need?
The right size depends on floor area, ceiling height, insulation, glass and how cold your winters get. These are starting points for a well insulated room with a standard 2.4 m ceiling:

Go a size up for poor insulation, a lot of glass, high or raked ceilings, or a colder area such as most of the South Island. Send us the room size and where you live, and we will send you suitable models.

Units of 7 kW and above add $80.00. Back-to-back means the indoor and outdoor units sit on either side of the same outside wall. Longer pipe runs, a second storey or extra electrical work are quoted first.
Outside these areas, or for anything that is not a standard install, ask for a quote first.
Delivery and payment
All prices include GST. Delivery is anywhere in New Zealand and usually takes 3 to 9 working days. Pay by card or bank transfer, use Afterpay, or spread the cost interest free with Gem Visa or Q Card.
Common questions
Which size is right for a bedroom?
Most bedrooms suit 2.0 to 3.5 kW. A small, well insulated bedroom is often fine with 2.5 kW. Larger or colder rooms need more.
Can I buy the unit only, for my own installer?
Yes. You can buy supply only. Your installer needs to be licensed, and keep the Certificate of Compliance for your warranty.

What warranty do I get?
The manufacturer warranty applies to every unit. The length depends on the brand and model, and many heat pumps carry 5 years. Installation done by our installers has a 12-month workmanship warranty. Use a licensed installer, or the manufacturer warranty can be refused.
