Ducting for ventilation fans, range hoods, heat pumps and ducted systems: insulated and uninsulated flexible duct, semi rigid Rigi-Flex, spiral galvanised tube, PVC duct, and the clamps, hangers and fittings to put it together. All sizes are in millimetres and prices include GST.
Types of duct

| Rigi-Flex | Semi rigid aluminium or stainless steel duct that holds its shape, with insulated and acoustic versions. |
| Rigid tube | Spiral galvanised tube, plain or pre-wrapped with insulation, for long straight runs and commercial work. |
| PVC ducting | Round 100 and 150 mm PVC duct and flat ducts (such as 60 x 204, 90 x 220 and 70 x 300 mm) that fit between joists, for range hoods and bathroom fans. |

Getting the size right
- Match the duct to the spigot on the fan, range hood or grille. Going smaller than the spigot cuts the airflow.
- Keep flexible duct pulled tight and as short as you can. Sagging or bunched flex adds resistance and noise.
- Use insulated duct where warm or cool air passes through an unheated roof space, so it does not lose heat or form condensation.
Common questions
What size is 4 inch duct in millimetres?
4 inch is about 100 mm, and 6 inch is about 150 mm. Ducting in New Zealand is sold in millimetres, so look for 100 mm or 150 mm here.
What does R0.6 or R1.0 mean?
It is the thermal resistance of the insulation around the duct. The higher the number, the less heat the air loses or gains on the way.
Can I get duct cut to length?
Some nude flex and Rigi-Flex lines are sold per metre in special lengths. The product name says so.
