Heat pumps use electricity to move heat through pipes in order to transfer heat from outside air into your home. They’re typically used for heating and cooling purposes, but they also provide hot water.
Select your home size.
There are two main types of heat pumps: ground source heat pumps and air source heat pumps. Ground source heat pumps work by transferring heat from the earth’s core to the surface where it is then transferred to your home. Air source heat pumps work by using the air inside your home as a medium to transfer heat.
Choose from three different options.
You can choose between a standard electric heat pump, a gas heat pump, or a geothermal heat pump. Each type has its own pros and cons. Electric heat pumps are typically more expensive than other types, but they also provide better efficiency. Gas heat pumps are less expensive than electric heat pumps, but they aren’t as efficient. Geothermal heat pumps are the least expensive option, but they require a lot of maintenance.
