The story of NZ Depot is really a story about New Zealand whānau (families). It all began back in 2013. Our founder, Shabih, was working across the hospitality and commercial construction sectors in Auckland. During those years, he noticed something that didn't sit right: for many hard-working Kiwis, creating a warm, healthy, and modern whare (home) was becoming far too expensive.
Essential heating solutions and premium appliances were often locked behind high retail markups and expensive showroom costs. It felt like you had to choose between quality and affordability. We didn’t think that was tika (fair). That observation became the foundation of NZ Depot: a simpler, smarter way for New Zealanders to access trusted products without unnecessary overheads.
